Sekiro not only ends the cycle of the heritage, but also takes the essence of the heritage, and presumably of the dragon himself, and carries it away from Ashina, back to its home, purifying even the dragon himself. It's a very personal and emotional ending for all characters involved, and imo the best one from a story-telling perspectiveĭragon's Homecoming ending is the most vague one. So the servant sacrifices his life so that the master can live. In order for it to work though, he has to remove anyone else who uses Kuro's immortality - himself. In Purification ending, Sekiro once again ends the cycle, but also purifies Kuro's body and soul of the heritage. It's the most bittersweet ending, because you achieve the goal, but at a great cost. In Severance ending, disrupting the cycle costs Kuro his life, while Sekiro finds himself without family, without master, and without purpose. Takeru and Tomoe messed up the severance ritual due to not having the right items, but Kuro and Sekiro did it right. Seeing Sekiro kill Kuro and then taking the sculptor's place just hits you hard. Whereas for the Divine Child's ending you just have to find the infested book and talk to the divine child a bit.īut maaan the severance ending was definitely the most impactful. I guess it's great that Kuro lives, but the cycle would still continue right?
